New Smart Sensors Embed into Oral Appliances for Therapy Monitoring

Summary: Dianyx Innovations has introduced its AI-powered smart sensors designed to embed into oral appliances, providing real-time monitoring of treatment effectiveness for sleep apnea. The technology delivers detailed patient data, such as heart rate and oxygen levels, while enabling prescribers to generate revenue through existing remote patient monitoring codes. These compact sensors also hold potential for use in other fields, including sports medicine.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Integrated Monitoring for Oral Appliances: The smart sensors integrate into oral appliances, providing continuous data on sleep apnea treatment effectiveness, including metrics like heart rate, oxygen levels, and sleep stages.
  2. Revenue Opportunities for Prescribers: The technology supports medical providers by generating billable patient data, utilizing remote patient monitoring (RPM) codes to create new revenue streams.
  3. Versatile Applications: Beyond sleep apnea, the sensors could be used in sports medicine, including monitoring for concussions and dental injuries when embedded in mouthguard.

Dianyx Innovations is introducing its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered smart sensors for oral appliance therapy at CES 2025.

This intraoral technology-enhanced sleep appliance (t.e.s.a) is designed to embed into existing and newly made oral appliances. The solution delivers continuous and personalized patient data and opens new revenue opportunities for medical prescribers through existing remote patient monitoring codes.

“Currently, oral appliance therapies are underutilized, and our AI-driven sensors will enhance confidence in prescriptions to increase utilization, improve outcomes for patients, and generate revenue for healthcare providers,” says Asim Roy, MD, and co-founder of Dianyx Innovations, in a release.

Key features of t.e.s.a include:

  • AI-Driven Accuracy: Advanced algorithms continuously collect and analyze patient data, including heart rate, oxygen levels, temperature, head position, sleep stages, and apnea-hypopnea index.
  • Ergonomic Design: Compact, flexible, and lightweight for patient comfort throughout the night.
  • Wireless Charging: Three nights without recharging.
  • Accompanied Cloud and App: Integrated remote patient monitoring allows clinicians to oversee treatment in real time and make proactive adjustments.
  • Efficacy Data and Revenue: Generates detailed, billable data for medical prescribers, enabling new revenue opportunities through existing RPM codes.

Dianyx Innovations has secured letters of intent through an established network of sleep clinics with access to a patient population of 70,000 across the United States, demonstrating strong demand for its patent-pending solution.

Attendees and press are invited to Booth 62062 to experience a live demonstration of the AI-powered technology and learn how it can improve treatment outcomes and drive new revenue opportunities for medical prescribers.

In addition to improving sleep apnea treatment, Dianyx’s technology has the potential to impact other fields, including sports medicine, by embedding the sensors into mouthguards for major professional contact sports-related dental injuries and monitoring potential concussions, according to a release from Dianyx Innovations.
